Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the therapies of Traditional Chinese Medicine, with a written history in China of 2,000 years, but dating back before recorded history. It is currently used by a quarter of the world's population, mostly in Asia, and its popularity is growing rapidly in the west as scientific trials prove its efficacy. Acupuncture consists of the insertion of extremely fine needles into specific points to regulate the systems of the body and alleviate pain. Acupuncture is used along with herbal medicine and dietary therapy to help the patient heal naturally and completely.

Botanical Medicine

Botanical medicines are effective and safe when used properly, in the right dose and in the proper combinations with other herbs or treatments. A resurgence of scientific research in Europe, Asia and the United States is demonstrating that some plant substances are superior to synthetic drugs in clinical situations.

Family Health Care

Dr. Wiancek is a primary care doctor who strictly uses natural medicine in her practice. She treats the whole family using nutrition, vitamins and supplements, homeopathy, botanical medicine and natural hormone therapy. Naturopathic medicine is safe for infants and during pregnancy. Please see commonly treated conditions.

Homeopathic Medicine

This powerful system of medicine is more than 200 years old, and is widely accepted in other countries (The Royal Family of England uses a homeopathic physician.). Homeopathic medicines act to strengthen the body's innate immune response; they seldom have side effects. Some conditions that conventional medicine has no effective treatment for respond well to homeopathy.

Physical Medicine.

Physical medicine includes physiotherapy, using heat and cold, gentle electrical pulses, ultrasound, diathermy, hydrotherapy , exercise therapy, Craniosacral therapy and manipulation.

Clinical Nutrition

A growing body of scientific knowledge in this area is reflected in numerous professional journals of nutrition and dietary sciences, validating the naturopathic approach to diet and nutrition. Many medical conditions can be treated as effectively with foods and nutritional supplements as they can by any other means, but with fewer complications and side effects. Naturopathic physicians receive more than 140 classroom hours in clinical nutrition; most medical doctors receive fewer than 20 hours.

Counseling and Stress Management

Mental attitudes and emotional states can be important elements in healing and disease. Naturopathic physicians are trained in various psychological techniques including counseling, nutritional balancing, stress management and biofeedback.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy is a technique that releases tightened, constricted tissue. It is among the gentlest of the bodywork therapies. It is unlike chiropractic manipulation in that there is no jolting of the body. Craniosacral therapy also holds an adjustment longer than chiropractic manipulation. Many clients get the results they need in three sessions. Others have the treatment done weekly for several months. What is Craniosacral?
